Brazil / Eletronuclear Launches Tender And Sets Schedule For Angra-3 Completion

Brazil’s state-run power company Eletronuclear has launched a tender for a contract for civil work at its suspended Angra-3 nuclear power plant project in Rio de Janeiro state.

The company said in a statement that the tender is part of a plan to “accelerate the critical path of the plant”. The goal is to advance some construction activities before hiring the contractor who will complete construction of the plant.

Eletronuclear did not say how much the contract is worth, but said it is expected to be signed by May. First concrete for the resumption of work at the Angra-3 site is scheduled for October and the hiring of the contractor that will continue the work is planned for the second half of 2022.
